So. . .after careful consideration you finally decided to take the plunge! You sold the BMW and now you're the proud owner of an Apple® Macintosh™ II. Not one to waste time, you slip the System Tools disk into the first of two waiting internal floppy disk drives (Huh? Your Mac II has a hard disk as well? Oh. . .you must have remortgaged the house too!) and quickly bring the machine to life. You open the System Folder expecting to find a bevy of sexy new icons and low and behold, to your disappointment, you're staring at a bunch of generic Macintosh icons. “What's a poor soul to do?” you ask in utter despair. No problem friend. . .that's where we come on to the Desktop!
Our accomplished con artists — er — icon artists (forgot the “i”) have spent weeks (more like a few hours) creating a set of stunning new Macintosh II icons for you to paste into your system files.
All you have to do is use a resource editor (like ResEdit) to copy the new icons into your System, General, Easy Access, Keyboard, and Mouse system files. The IDs are the same — so it's as easy as Copy and Paste! (While this is a simple operation we suggest that you do not make any changes to your original files — always use backup copies.)
“Wow — these are terrific!” you say thoughtfully as you gaze into your new-and-improved System Folder. “Gee. . .what do I owe for all your trouble?” you ask. “Would a shiny new quarter be enough?”
